The number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals increased slightly during the past 24 hours. In total, there are now 2,762 hospitalized patients with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) reported this Sunday.
And 2,743 patients with corona were still in hospitals on Saturday. There are now 2,120 patients on nursing wards, up 11 from Saturday. In the intensive care units, the number of patients increased by eight to 642 patients.
In the last 24 hours, 251 new Covid-19 patients were hospitalized. Among them, 33 were admitted to IC and 218 to nursing wards.

With 729 positive tests, most infections were detected in Amsterdam between Saturday and Sunday morning. It is followed by Rotterdam with 647, and The Hague with 526.
RIVM has been informed that 39 people have died in the past 24 hours, with the death linked to Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. This does not necessarily mean that they also died during that period, sometimes this is passed on later. The number of deaths has risen in recent weeks. A total of 445 people died in the past seven days, four weeks ago, the total number reached 234.
