FromSoftware has released the first screenshots of the Armored Core VI game. It’s the first game in the series since 2013 and the first FromSoftware game that isn’t a Soulslike, VR, or mobile game.
The footage was released to reporters as part of the Summer Games festival. They wrote previews based on this, which can be read and seen, for example at Engadget.comAnd Plain allies and polygon. YouTube channel Ratatoskr said it found the uncut gameplay footage without commentary “on a Japanese site” and put it on the video platform.
It can be seen that the game is about a mixture of ranged And ruckusyou fight. The locking system helps point those firearms in the right direction during fast movement. In addition, mobility plays a major role and also depends on the weight of the assembled robot; Heavier units have less jumping and flying ability, which also limits reconnaissance and alternative route options, but provides more combat power. Also there is one boss fight to see.
FromSoftware is taking a relatively new direction with the game
If you look at FromSoftware’s work on Wikipedia, for example, you’ll see that the studio has almost exclusively made so-called Soulslikes in recent years. These are games like Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Since 2014, starting with Dark Souls II, this is the only type of game that FromSoftware makes, with the exception of Monster Hunter for Nintendo 3DS and PSVR Déraciné. The remaining eight titles are all Soulslikes. It’s now working on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, which will be released for those major platforms that many Soulslikes have also appeared for: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Windows.
