Xiaomi Watch S1 was officially presented at an event. With the Watch S1, the company promises twelve days of battery life, 117 sport modes and a scratch-free sapphire glass case. It is not yet known if and when we can expect this to happen in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The strongest and hardest watch glass in the world
In addition to the Xiaomi 12, 12 X and 12 Pro which yesterday Launched, Xiaomi also announced a new smartwatch. Xiaomi chooses a classic design for the design of the smartwatch. The watch has a 1.43-inch round AMOLED panel suitable for 326 ppi (pixels per inch).
Above this screen is a layer of sapphire glass. It’s a synthetic type of glass that’s almost scratch-free unless you’re going to scratch it with diamonds, and it’s often used in more expensive watches on the market. Well-known brands such as Omega and Longines, for example, benefit from this. Sapphire glass is also known as “the strongest and strongest watch glass in the world”. Nice that this can now be found in a “cheap” smartwatch.
Sports and long battery life
Xiaomi Watch S1 runs its own operating system from Xiaomi. It supports 117 sports modes, supports sleep tracking, and can measure heart rate and blood oxygen levels. It is also possible to swim with the watch, as the watch is water resistant (5ATM).
Finally, there is the 470mAh battery. Xiaomi promises that the watch should last twelve days. Please note that this may not be due to excessive use. With regular use, this will, most likely, be much less. Xiaomi also promises a standby time of 24 days.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Watch S1 should cost CNY 1,100, which comes to about 185 euros including VAT. At the moment, the watch has been announced for the Chinese market only. The watch is expected to be available in Europe at a later date. It is not yet known whether it will also be available in the Netherlands and Belgium.
