Google TV introduces a new quick settings menu

If you are using Google TV, you will notice that it looks a little different. There’s a new section on the Quick Settings home screen. This would make it easier to use the TV operating system.

The new listing ensures that Google TV and Pixel phones will be more similar in design, he writes 9to5Google. In the list, you’ll see Bluetooth, Wifi, accessibility options, and a screensaver, next to the date and time, and another button that takes you to all the settings at once. The new menu takes up 2 x 2 squares on your screen. This means that many options can be found in a single menu, instead of as before. Additionally, there was one pane for switching between accounts and another for settings combined with the screensaver.

To be clear, this is Google TV, not Android TV. Why the two have existed side by side for so long is somewhat unclear: in the end, the notion that Google TV is the only one left. When exactly this will happen remains to be seen. For now, however, Google is busy revamping Google TV to make it more material-based. For example, some modifications have been made in recent weeks, such as removing the button for movies/series, moving the button to go to your profile and more.

Design changes

It often has to do with a different placement in the design, including moving movie and series information under “For You” and moving Google search and the Google TV logo to the right. Quick settings can be recognized by the gear button. So it seems like one little thing changes every week. You may not see the new setting on your Google TV: it has been rolling out since yesterday.
