Google has added support for lossless audio over USB to Android 14.
This version of the mobile operating system was released in early October.
The function may be built into Android 14, but that doesn’t mean that lossless audio over USB can be used immediately in every Android app.
According to Burke, manufacturers and app developers must implement the functionality first.

Google is working with its elbows.

Firstly they promise longer upgrades/updates.
This can be made easier by making adjustments in upcoming devices/Android versions.

They then build the possibility of activating the new options as soon as possible.
And they are building this option into the next devices/version of Android.

There is nothing wrong with that if the device is worth the money.
And since people nowadays are already willing to spend almost 1,500 euros – on a luxury gadget…
