YouTuber Matthew Perks of DIY Perks built a laptop with three screens from an old laptop screen and components from a Framework laptop and some iPad screens. The cover is 3D printed.
The perks are shown in the video How he put together the laptop, which he refers to as a laptop with three screens. The PC is from the Laptop Framework, and USB-C to DisplayPort cables for connecting monitors come from there as well. The battery is also from Framework.
Next to the main screen with a resolution of 2160 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, there are two iPad screens with a frequency of 60 Hz with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. These are the first-generation Retina displays of iPads, so the 9.7-inch iPad 3 or iPad 4 from 2012, for example. They are powered by a 5V power supply connected to a USB-C cable. It happens by default, Perks had to solder that separately.
He 3D printed the case and thus it is made of plastic. The whole folds into a package and can be used with a wireless keyboard and mouse as a computer with three monitors. Perks contains the files needed to get started creating on your own published online.
