WinFuture: Galaxy Watch5 gets a bigger battery, new sensor and costs 299 euros – tablets and phones – news

German WinFuture has been able to obtain images of the Galaxy Watch5 products, as well as additional details about the upcoming Samsung smartwatches. They’ll get a bigger battery, a new sensor on the back, and a starting price of 299 euros.

The standard version of the Galaxy Watch5 will come in a 40mm version and a 44mm version. The 40mm version is 9.8mm thick and weighs 28.7 grams. The 44mm version will also be 9.8mm thick, but weighs 33.5 grams. The smaller version has a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 396 x 396 pixels. The larger model will have a 1.36-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels.

There is also a Pro model for the Galaxy Watch5. This model gets a larger 45mm casing that is made of titanium. The Pro model is said to be 10.5mm thick, weigh 46.5g and is said to have the same OLED panel as the 44mm Galaxy Watch5.

It is said that all models will come with sapphire glass to protect the screen from scratches. Samsung was also supposed to put a new sensor on the back of the smartwatch, but what function does it have, Don’t know WinFuture yet. The editors of the site are considering a temperature sensor.

Both the 40mm and 44mm versions of the Galaxy Watch5 will last a maximum of 50 hours on a single charge. The smaller variant gets a 284mAh battery, compared to 247mAh in the smaller Galaxy Watch4 from last year. The larger version gets a 410mAh battery, compared to 361mAh in the 44mm version of the Watch4. The Pro variant gets a 590mAh battery and can last 80 hours. All batteries can be charged wirelessly via the built-in 10W charger.

The smartwatch will have Exynos W920 soc also present Samsung Galaxy Watch4 sitting. This chip features two Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.18GHz and a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU. In addition, there is an economical Cortex-M55 core that should be able to reduce power consumption when using the always-on display. Samsung will also offer LTE versions of watches that support e-sim.

The 40mm version of the Galaxy Watch5 will sell for 299 euros. The 44mm version should cost 329 euros. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro will cost 469 euros. According to WinFuture, versions with an lte connection cost about 50 euros more.
