The Ukrainian military launched its counteroffensive on at least four fronts on Monday, the Institute for the Study of War reported in a daily update on the war in Ukraine. In the east of the country, southwest of Pashmut, Kiev is said to have gained 9 square kilometers of territory.
According to Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malgar, the Ukrainian military also launched counterattacks in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia border region and in the west of the Zaporizhia region. There, according to Russian military bloggers, Kiev had minor successes.
Sources within the Russian Defense Ministry also claim that Ukraine launched a counterattack near the town of Liman, located in the Donetsk region. How successful this attack was is unknown. In total, Kyiv was to gain nearly 29 square kilometers of territory last week, according to Malgar.
The Russian army also carried out several attacks on Monday, including missile and drone attacks, on the regions of Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhia. In Sumy, Shahid aircraft bombed a house, killing two people and wounding 19 others.
