Belgian singer Stromae has canceled the concerts he was due to perform in Amsterdam next week. The three concerts at the Ziggo Dome were canceled due to his “current state of health”. He made this known on social media.

Other shows through the end of May in France, the UK, Italy and more have also been cancelled. “I have come to the conclusion that my current state of health does not allow me to meet you now,” Stromae wrote to his fans.

“I’m sorry to share this news that saddens me so much, but I have to set boundaries. Surrounded by my family, I have to take the time to be good to be able to perform again.”

He did not say in the letter what exactly was wrong with him. He says he hopes to have positive news soon. “I look forward to seeing you all and resuming this tour with my team who have supported me over the years.”

The sold-out concerts at the Ziggo Dome were part of the tour multiplicity from Stromae. Fans who purchased tickets will get their money back. Stromae concerts at the Ziggo Dome are also scheduled for November 22-23. Those offers will continue for the time being.

a new album

Stromae previously suffered from burnout, which he spoke candidly about last year. He also talked about his depression and suicidal thoughts.

Stromae is the stage name of Paul Van Haver, a famous artist of Belgian-Rwandan descent. Between 2010 and 2014 he achieved great successes such as PapautaiAnd enormous And Alors to dance. After that, he disappeared from public view for a long time due to his burnout. At the beginning of March, a new album was released for the first time in seven years: multiplicity.
