Software update: WinRAR 6.22 beta 1 – Computer – Downloads

WinRAR logo (80px) RAR Labs has released the first beta of version 6.22 of the RAR and WinRAR archivers. This popular compression tool is available for various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. The program can handle most popular formats—including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, uue, bz2, jar, iso, 7z, and z—and has Configurable interface, Zip64 support and multipart cab files. The following improvements have been made in this release:

Fixed bug:

  • Extracting individual files from solid archives created by RAR versions earlier than 2.0 may fail in WinRAR 6.20 and 6.21. This did not affect the extraction of the entire archive, which was done correctly;
  • Files in Unix ARJ archives may be mistakenly displayed as folders in WinRAR’s file list;
  • The “View files in Explorer” extraction option is ignored if the “When finished: close WinRAR” option is also set and the archive is opened in WinRAR before extraction;
  • The file size value in the internal viewer status bar did not include the byte order mask field, showing a size smaller than the actual size of Unicode files.
