Omroep Flevoland - News - 'No app to connect to the European network?' Then there is no money for Lelylijn!

No European funds will be available at the moment to build the Lely line, as no Dutch request has been made to connect the railways to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). This is what European Commissioner Adina Volan said from the transfer on the site New Brussels.

TEN-T is a network of motorways, railways and other infrastructure that must connect all of Europe for international travel. The benefit can only be applied for when Lelylijn is part of this network.

The House of Representatives wants to speed up the implementation
But the Romanian European Commissioner has not yet received a request from the Netherlands. In April, the House of Representatives instructed the Cabinet to do exactly that. A proposal by VVD and CDA to support Lelylijn for the network has been adopted by a majority, but so far without result.

In the coalition agreement, the government allocated 3 billion euros to Lelylijn. Next, you’ll drive the railway line between Groningen and Lelestadt, among other places, to Immellord. In addition to the private contribution, the government needs additional funds. The railway could only be built if the region and Europe also contributed, according to the alliance agreement.
