In “Help, my husband is witty!” Women regularly pass through despair and this evening is no different: Anchin has been camping with her family for years at their home in Middleburg. She is sick and tired of it, but her husband Ricardo thinks everything is fine. He prefers to spend time on his hobbies and especially believes that his wife should not grumble like that. When John Williams and his “DIY” team arrive, Ricciardo is put in place for a while.
“You were only thinking about yourself”
Anishian, Ricardo and their youngest son, Levi, have been living in a handyman’s home for three years now. The house is beautiful, the location is beautiful, but inside it does not go smoothly. Although the living room is completely completed, the upper floor and the hall still leave something to be desired. According to Annechien, there is one simple reason for this: her husband simply doesn’t feel like it. “In his spare time, he mainly watches TV and series. It seems that he finds other things more important.”

According to Annechien, it also doesn’t make sense to sit behind his pants. The more you ask, the less he does. Levi’s son also believes that his mother should not ask for anything. “If my mother says something, it immediately becomes a problem. Then he says, ‘If it continues like this, I won’t do anything.'” What annoys Anishin is that he no longer feels like he’s doing odd jobs, but he doesn’t want to outsource at the same time. “He has a plan and if it doesn’t go according to his idea, he’ll be locked up.”
Fortunately, Ricciardo appears to be open to helping John Williams and his team. Although he doesn’t always find Anshin’s expectations realistic. “You can’t expect me to work until 11 am after work. I also want to have my sporting moments.” The latter turned out to be especially important for Ricardo: when he has to do strange things, 9 times out of 10 he chooses cycling or surfing.

But he’s unlucky this time: because John often follows him. In a conversation with Anshin and Ricardo, he did not ignore her. He points out to the couple that they simply have the budget to outsource everything, but still seek help from the program. “Is it your concern that it is now free?” he asks. Both Ricardo and Anshin confirmed to John that this was not the case. According to Annechien, Ricciardo is simply not open to outside help. “So you just have to stop everything,” John notes. “Isn’t that ASO or not? You only think of yourself. It’s selfish, it’s all about me. It’s not social.”

Although Ricardo is not entirely happy with John’s engagement, he still puts his weight behind it and it is not without consequence: when the house is completely finished, Anshin can’t believe her eyes.
