Meta alternative seems to be free and talking about no limits at the moment. Threads are one of many alternatives that have emerged in recent months.

After the mess on Twitter, people created accounts on Mastodon and Bluesky, for example. While these apps keep bouncing back whenever something changes on Twitter, they still fall short of Musk’s platform in terms of number of users.

Maybe Meta can make the alternative work. In the past, the company has successfully copied features from other apps. For example, Snapchat created the option to post stories that automatically disappear after 24 hours. This feature is now very popular on Instagram. And Reels’ Instagram videos are Meta’s answer to TikTok.
