Georgia, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are ready for war

Just when you think the slate of college football on a light weekend comes out of October, that’s when the greatest sport in the world surprises us. Week 9 predictions are on schedule, highlighted by the rivalry between Georgia, Florida and Milan from the nationally seeded teams — Tennessee’s prime-time showdown against Kentucky and Ohio State’s trip to Pennsylvania. Oklahoma State in Kansas is another must-see in the Big 12 that puts the loser into the second division of the league standings heading down the sprawl.

This weekend is also the last chance for the teams near the top of the poll to impress the College Football Selection Committee, whose preliminary rankings will be revealed next week.

Season results: Brad Crawford (52-20 straight; 44-25-1 against spread); Chris Hammer (48-24 straight; 42-27-1 ATS). If you’ve followed this season, you’re making big cash with one unit per game. I’ve crossed 17-3 of my last 20 picks to move 19 games over 0.500 for this season and Hammer isn’t far behind. For the record, my personal favorite play of the week isn’t included here – BYU’s Friday night coverage against ECU in Provo, Utah.
