Gavin Raeburn has started a new game studio: Lighthouse Games. Rayburn is the co-founder and former president of Forza Horizon developer Playground Games. The new studio is working on a new game franchise.
Rayburn he tells Gamesindustry.biz to work on a new IP address, but don’t share any specifics about this yet. He is assisted in the new studio by thirty former colleagues from Playground Games, as well as other developers from the gaming industry. The studio is located in the UK.
It’s not known what kind of game Lighthouse Games is currently working on, though it does mention that it’s a triple A game. However, Raeburn doesn’t say if it’s a racing game, which he and his colleagues at Playground have a lot of experience with. Raeburn is co-founder and former studio head of that developer, which works on the Forza Horizon franchise. He was ex Executive Producer From multiple Dirt and GRID games.
Recently, several Forza Horizon developers have also started their own studio called Maverick Games. Raeburn followed relatively soon after with Lighthouse Games. The studio behind Forza Horizon, which Raeburn left last year, is currently working on a Fable reboot, its first game outside of the racing genre.
