Bethesda has postponed the releases of Starfield and Redfall until the first half of next year. The development teams for both games say they want to spend more time making the games as good as possible.

“We have made the decision to postpone the release of Redfall and Starfield until the first half of 2023,” Bethesda writes on Twitter† “The teams at Arkane Austin and Bethesda Game Studios have big ambitions for their games and we want to make sure you get their best and most polished versions of them.”

Bethesda thanks players for their enthusiasm for the titles and promises to share their first “deep dive” into Starfield and Redfall gameplay “soon.” The studio won’t say when that will happen, but the Xbox & Bethesda games show is scheduled for June 12, with parent company Microsoft discussing upcoming games from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda.
