NFL RedZone offices were forced to evacuate Sunday due to a false alarm, according to an NFL spokesperson. The show was live when the alert went off at approximately 7:16 PM ET.

“Fortunately there was no fire,” an NFL spokesman said. “No commercial functions, including NFL RedZone, were interrupted.”

Host Scott Hanson said he was “in the middle of an update” when he heard the alarm go off.

“I tried to continue without drawing attention to it, hoping it was a false alarm that would be stopped quickly,” Hanson said. The athlete. “When the song went on, I thought the audience was hearing it, so I pointed it out and apologized if it was a distraction. My producer got initial word that it might be legit. So I told the audience we were being asked to evacuate.”

Hanson said the RedZone broadcast was “down” at the Bills-Eagles game and as he was about to take off his microphone, he was told to “don’t leave yet.”

“We got permission to stay in the studio,” Hanson said. “But the script was like this, they wanted us to sign on air. So I came in front of the camera, confused as the circumstances were, and I signed. Over 250 episodes of NFL RedZone — this was the first episode. I’m so grateful for the interest shown by so many of our viewers. We’ll be back. Next Sunday we are ready to answer the bell, whatever the bell is!

On NFL Sundays, about 300 people will work at the NFL Network studios in Inglewood, adjacent to SoFi Stadium.

RedZone has been owned and operated by NFL Network since 2009. It broadcasts during the NFL regular season beginning at 1 PM ET, providing simulcast and alternating coverage of all Sunday afternoon games. As Hanson says at the top of each broadcast, RedZone shows “seven hours of commercial-free football”.

Beginning in August 2023, NFL+, the league’s live video streaming subscription service, offered consumers the ability to watch NFL Network and NFL RedZone. Fans can upgrade to NFL+ Premium for $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year to get NFL RedZone.

Hanson has been the host of RedZone since the show’s inception in 2009.
