2021 Tour Championship leaderboard: Patrick Cantlay beats Jon Ram to win FedEx Cup, $15 million jackpot

The final round of one of the longest seasons in PGA Tour history wrapped up Sunday with Patrick Cantlay emerging as Wired winner of the 2021 Tour Championship. With the win, Cantlay finished first in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and took home the grand prize of $15 million from the mega game. $46 million purse.

John Ram, who moved up to second on Thursday and maintained that position on his way to toe with Cantlay over the weekend, finished one shot off Cantlay’s score of 21 under, taking home the $5 million runner-up prize. He had an eagle tie the event at the 72nd hole on Sunday, but he just passed the hole, allowing Cantelay the opportunity to lay his way to victory without falling behind once during the four-day event.

Cantlie’s win on Sunday was his fourth of the season. This level of achievement puts him firmly in place to win the PGA Tour of the Year awards. Cantlay also garnered back-to-back events to end the season, winning the BMW Championship last week to give himself a two-stroke lead over the rest of the field at East Lake Golf Club when the championship game kicked off Thursday.

Cantlay was the 13th different golfer to win the Tour Championship in the event’s 15-year history.

“It was tough. It was definitely different than any other week,” Cantlay said of driving the FedEx Cup for more than a week. “It’s the longest advance of my life ever. I just tried to survive day in and day out in the present.”

Justin Thomas (-14), who finished Canlay with five men in fourth, placed inside the top ten in the fifth straight round championship.
