Verstappen achieved his main goal a week ago at the Qatar GP by winning his third world title. Having already won the constructors’ title for his team at Red Bull Racing, the Dutchman can now focus on breaking more records.
This will enable him to better his own record of fifteen Grand Prix wins in a single season this season. The Dutchman is currently on fourteen, so could level this weekend. Also, Verstappen needs to take pole position in Austin to equal Sebastian Vettel’s record number (fifteen) in the last five qualifying sessions in a season. Verstappen is ten years old now.
Verstappen has fond memories of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, as the 26-year-old Dutchman won the GP title there in the last two years. For Dutch racing fans, the time difference with the Texan capital will be triple the delay.
