After a series of devastating tornadoes last weekend in the southeastern United States, the hardest-hit Kentucky state recorded 74 deaths. That’s ten more than what was reported earlier on Monday. The governor said in his latest report that at least 109 people are still missing. The death toll is expected to rise in the coming days. And killed 14 people in neighboring countries so far.

O’Klin was hospitalized for two days after a tornado hit her hometown of Dawson Springs on Friday.

Her family says the girl had multiple seizures in hospital. Doctors suspected she might have had a stroke. “It doesn’t look good at all. Machines keep her alive. Her head swells too much. She has no activity,” her parents said hours before her death was confirmed on Facebook.

When the tornado hit the family home on Friday, O’Kelen was strapped to her car seat. Family members gathered in the bathroom. Then they were dragged into the air and ended up in a neighbour’s house.

O’Klinn was hospitalized with her older brother Dallas. Her brother was released from hospital on Sunday.
