It regularly happens that many more pageviews are sent to Hardware Info from the IP address, than usual – even for very large organizations like KPN, tax and customs administration and various ministries. To protect ourselves from (additional) inconvenience, we are blocking this request.
In most cases, this message will disappear after a minute.
Here are some common causes:
- Improperly configured proxy servers, link scanners or crawlers and/or ignore our robots.txt file
- Highly avid feed readers request an RSS feed every few seconds
- Something on the keyboard is holding down the F5 button (like a cat or headphones)
In addition to the above reasons, hardware information misconduct is also a reason for IP blocking. This usually includes things like hacking attempts or repeated harassment of other users.
