On that day, the previously announced resumption of SLM flights from Amsterdam to Paramaribo on Wednesday 20 July will not take place. It will be now in a day, on Thursday July 21st. Air Suriname announced this in a press release on Tuesday.
The flight schedule has been adjusted in connection with unexpected technical maintenance work on the plane that will be used on Wednesday, the company from Suriname said.
Initially, the flight will be operated by Airhub Airlines. However, due to unexpected technical maintenance work on the aircraft, the aircraft in question could no longer be used. To ensure operation, Suriname Airlines has attracted GullivAir for this flight.
Due to GullivAir’s greater carrying capacity (326 passengers), Suriname Airlines will be able to carry many stranded passengers on this flight. GullivAir has also operated flights for Surinam Airlines in the past. Due to the legally required rest period for the GullivAir cabin crew, the flight from Paramaribo to Amsterdam will now operate on Thursday, July 21.
PY994’s departure for Thursday, July 21 is set at 5 AM, and passengers are required to check-in between 12 AM and 3 AM on Thursday, July 21.
Suriname Airlines thanks the passengers for their understanding. The company said in a press release that starting the operation is our top priority in order to transport the stranded passengers to their destination as soon as possible.
