Madness at its peak. It is assumed that all the tasks of the parents are already done by the schools. Now the schools are asking the cabinet to do so. About 10, 12 men and women doing their best for ridiculously little money to keep a small million civil servants at work. Nonsense. Schools should only teach, especially arithmetic, mathematics and languages. Parents should just do what they have their kids for. Educate them and prepare them for society.

Perhaps parents should take more responsibility for this. And please let’s stop this fussing. Children and young people benefit much more if you make them more resilient in a loving way and learn that disappointments and setbacks can be overcome.

That’s not what the Cabinet is about, and that’s not what the Cabinet is. Dear employees of municipalities, care institutions and schools: Do more effort in the social and emotional development of young people and better prepare them for life. This is what you are there for, this is your job. Don’t shift your responsibility onto someone else, but do your (better) job.

And they ask it to the “cabinet”? wasted effort. . .

  • Remarkably: the parents are not mentioned at all in this argument, in the first place. Moreover, any form of “behavior different from others” is immediately categorized as a problem. Puberty and adolescence is often (always is) a difficult phase.
