BIJ1 members on Saturday elected 22-year-old Rebecca Timmer as the new head of the party. A party spokesman said she won 74 percent of the vote. Timmer was a former member of the BIJ1 Board of Directors and is an employee of the House faction.
After her opponent, Jursica Mills, abruptly withdrew last week, Temer was the only remaining candidate for the party’s leadership. Former party chairman Mills resigned in protest of “toxicity and nepotism” within the party.
