Enschede – In Twente, 1,146 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. There have been no new deaths from the virus. This is evidenced by figures released by the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) on Tuesday afternoon.
RIVM adds that due to a technical failure, the reports and data for the test street were not fully provided. So the actual number of new infections may be higher.
The average for the past seven days in Twente is 1,216.1 positive tests per day (last week 1,076.1). In that period, 8,513 injuries were recorded, an increase of 980 from last Tuesday, when the number was still at 7,533. And 1,027 new infections were counted on Monday.
Dinkland negative out
Most of the reports this Tuesday come from the municipalities of Enschede (355), Hengelo (132) and Almelo (125). Within the region, Dinkelland is the municipality with the highest infection factor (266.9) with 71 cases, converted to 100,000 residents.
For the entire Twente region, today this figure is 181.4. This puts the region ninth on the daily list of the 25 Dutch security regions. The following applies to this arrangement: the lower the position, the better.

In the eastern part of Achterhoek, 46 new infections were reported: in Berkelland 15, Aalten 13, East Gelre 10 and Winterswijk 8. No corona-related deaths were recorded in this part of Achterhoek either.

RIVM recorded 31,426 new infections nationwide in the past 24 hours, down 11,046 from Monday. Then 42,472 positive results were reported.
hospital numbers
The number of corona patients in hospitals has decreased. So far, 1,186 people with coronavirus have been admitted, 54 fewer than on Monday. Most of them are in the nursing department.
In intensive care, 303 patients (including 1 in Germany) are being treated for corona, 14 fewer than on Monday. Those numbers were announced by the LCPS (National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution) on Tuesday afternoon.
