Minisforum Launches Venus Mini PCs With Intel Alder Lake N Processors – Computer – News

Minisforum has announced two new mini computers in its Venus series. The UN100 and UN305 both use an Alder Lake-N chip. The more expensive variant has an Intel Core i3-N305.

Venus UN100 and UN305 are the two From Friday on sale at Minisforum. Both models are available in two versions: one with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage, and the other with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage. The memory can’t be expanded or replaced because it’s soldered in, but upgrading to the faster model doesn’t cost €30.

The Mini PCs are the first Minisforum to feature an Alder Lake N chip from Intel. For the UN100, this is the N100. Not surprisingly, the UN305 uses the N305 processor. The N100 is a quad-core soc with a maximum speed of 3.4GHz and an integrated Intel UHD GPU of 750MHz. N305 is faster; This is a Core i3 processor with an octa core chip clocked at 3.8GHz max and has a GPU clocked at 1.25GHz.

Except for the processor, both devices are the same. Mini PCs have two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two HDMI ports, and a USB-C port with a DisplayPort option. This allows up to three monitors to be connected at the same time. There are also four USB-A 3.2 ports on the device, two of which are Gen 1 and two Gen 2.

The metal casing is the same for both devices. It can be opened to add an M.2 2280 SSD, or a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD. The lower-cost N100 model costs $249, and the more affordable N305 costs $359.
