Microsoft 365 apps get an automatic crop tool and PDF merge functionality – Computer – News

Microsoft made some new features available in Windows Insider beta builds of its 365 apps. An Auto Crop feature has been added for Mac and iOS devices, while Android users get the ability to merge PDF files.

The Auto Crop feature should automatically detect the parts of the image that are most important and crop the rest, Microsoft writes. The feature is available for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The auto crop tool can only be used with one image at a time and doesn’t yet work with SVG and PDF files. Auto Crop is available to Windows Insiders using version 2.76 or later of the iOS app. Mac version is 16.76 or later.

Microsoft 365 Insiders with Android app version 16.0.16523.10000 or later Access to a function for merging PDF files. To do this, users have to go to the file selection page in the 365 app and choose the PDF files to combine into one. They can also specify the order of the PDF files. This is a premium feature and therefore only accessible to users who have a paid subscription to Microsoft 365.
