Kobo Elipsa 2E e-reader adds battery to stylus – Tablets & Phones – News

Rakuten Kobo announced the Elipsa 2E. Has been following the Elipsa e-reader for two years now. The screen and hardware are pretty much the same, but there are several changes to the included stylus.

The pen is now magnetic to Elips 2E So that it is less likely to be lost. In addition, users no longer need to replace the AAA batteries in the pen, as it has a built-in battery, As stated in the advertisement for Rakuten Kobo. With this pen it is possible to take notes.

On paper, it’s much the same as an e-reader, with a 10.3-inch e-ink screen with a resolution of 1,872 x 1,404 pixels. The storage capacity of 32 GB remains the same. The processor is unknown, but it has at least a higher clock speed of 2GHz, compared to the 1.8GHz soc of the first Elipsa. The Elipsa 2E is made with more recycled plastic than the previous version, among other things.

The 2021 Elipsa comes with a free cover that is now a paid option. The Elipsa came out two years ago for €399 and while it’s been regularly cheaper, it’s again €399 at the time of writing. Tweakers has reviewed the device. The new e-reader will be released in the Netherlands and Belgium within two weeks for 399 euros.
