Iowa vs. South Carolina live scores, updates: Kaitlyn Clark breaks NCAA Tournament scoring record
we are here. It’s a game for the ages for the national championship. The best player in the country, Iowa State’s Kaitlyn Clark, faces off against the best team in the country: undefeated South Carolina.
In a season where so much history has been made, including Clark’s scoring records and multiple TV viewing accomplishments, this game feels like the perfect way to end a memorable season.
It’s a rematch of last year’s Final Four, where Iowa State upset then-undefeated South Carolina. The Gamecocks (37-0) have not lost since despite a mostly revamped starting lineup.
Similar to last year is Clark, who earned her second straight Naismith National Player of the Year Award as she works her way through the record books this season. Sunday will mark the final game of her historic college career, but can she really be considered the GOAT if she doesn’t win the tournament?
Her Hawkeyes came up short in last year’s national title game against LSU. They have their chance at redemption, while the Gamecocks have a chance to finish a perfect season.

Stuelke missed both of her free throws and South Carolina’s Johnson capitalized with a jumper. Clarke responded with a jumper and Folwile scored a corner kick at the other end.
The last quarter is underway! We started with Stuelke at the free throw line after taking the basket.

Clark tried to end the quarter with a 3-pointer but it was no good.
Tessa Johnson has the hot hand. Iowa calls a timeout after hitting another 3-pointer, its second of the quarter.
Bree Hall is the next Gamecock to score a 3. South Carolina leads by 10 points.
Oh boy. Clark scored in the paint again. She almost provided another great assist for Stuelke as well. South Carolina took advantage, getting the defensive rebound and converting a 3-pointer from Tessa Johnson.
Iowa State’s Gabby Marshall made a 3-pointer for her first field goal of the game. He was assisted by Clarke, who followed up with a distinguished assist to Stuelke.
Clark just scored in the paint and looked at the officials for a foul call. Cardoso ended up at the free throw line on the other end instead. She missed both of her free throws. A few plays later, Keatts was called for an offensive foul while driving to the basket.
We are out in the third quarter. Chloe Kitts got on the board first for South Carolina with a layup assisted by Pawpaw. Keats follows up with a jumper.
After another jumper from PaoPao, the Gamecocks take a 6-0 lead.

Happy end of the first half! It seemed that the conversation during the break turned towards the officials. Reporters, athletes and sports media personalities participated throughout the match.
South Carolina staff is still upset about what was a very apparent push from Kaitlyn Clark on Bree Hall that led to a 3. Heard: “He said he didn’t see it.”

South Carolina is very good at putting a few extra points on the board at the end of quarters. He featured heavily in the regular season win over LSU (one of the few close games). Those five quick points before halftime could be important.

Iowa State’s Kate Martin finished with 11 points in the first half of her final collegiate game. South Carolina guard TeHina PaoPao is 3-for-3 from the three-point line.
PaoPao ended the second quarter with a huge 3-pointer for South Carolina after a block by Feagin. Raven Johnson added to the Gamecocks’ lead with a steal and a fastball layup.
Stuelke returned to the free throw line. She has the last Newf points in Iowa.
It made a big difference on both ends for Iowa State, including this block from the first quarter.
Do you know who didn’t play in the 2023 semifinal game? Tessa Johnson, because she was still in high school. She was clutch for South Carolina off the bench with nine points.
Another layup from Cardoso gave South Carolina the lead but Stoelke was quick to answer for Iowa and tie the game. She was fouled under the basket when she scored. She is Ashlyn Watkins’ second character.
South Carolina was awarded as many as 12 second-chance points after a wild sequence led to a layup for Cardoso.
