Instagram looks more like TikTok after the new update. Facebook’s parent company Meta previously announced that it was struggling with competition from that platform. Plus, it’s not new for social media to take posts from each other. This has also happened before with Instagram Reels, which seems to be inspired by TikTok videos.
What is clear anyway is that many users do not like the TikTok-like design. One-star ratings are raining down on the Apple App Store. This also happens in the Google Play Store. Users there have also reported that the app keeps crashing since the update and has become unusable as a result.
By the way, the update is not yet available for everyone. While some users have had the new schedule for several weeks, many users are also seeing the old design. It is still unclear if and when Instagram will implement the change for everyone and when to do something with comments.
