Singer Carlos Marin passed away at the age of 53. The cause of the death of the Spanish singer has not been officially announced. According to various British media, the Spanish artist died at the Royal Manchester Hospital in Manchester, United Kingdom.
“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our friend and partner, Carlos Marin,” the three remaining singers of Il Divo wrote on Instagram on Sunday. He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There will never be another voice or soul like Carlos. For seventeen years, the four of us have been on this wonderful journey with Il Divo, and we will miss our dear friend. We hope and pray that this beautiful soul rests in peace. With love, David, Sebastian and Urs.
According to the Spanish newspaper El Español, the 53-year-old Marin was already hospitalized on December 8 in a “serious” condition. He did not know exactly what was going on with the singer. British media such as The Daily Mail reported that he is in hospital due to contracting the Corona virus.
Round moved
The guys from Il Divo were actually supposed to be doing quite a few shows in the UK this month. Last week, the same band announced that the remaining operating dates for the tour would be moved to 2022. A social media post announced that the move was due to illness, but no further details were released at the time.
Founded in 2003, Il Divo is a multinational pop band that sings pop songs in an opera style. In addition to Spain’s Marin, the group consists of American David Miller, Swiss Urs Buehler and Frenchman Sebastien Isambard.
