Eindhoven Airport can receive a total of eight flights from Schiphol Airport on the next Saturday and Sunday. According to the regional airport, it is not yet clear if Schiphol wants to take advantage of that.

Schiphol wants to prevent uncontrollable congestion and is consulting with airlines about a solution, with an eye on rescheduling flights.

“It’s very limited, but of course it’s busy with us,” explains a spokeswoman for Eindhoven Airport.

Other airports
Rotterdam The Hague Airport has announced that it is not full yet this weekend, but space to take over flights is limited. “We can do a few trips instead of dozens.”

In addition, the possibility of taking over flights depends on various factors. For example, for each flight taken, calculations must be made, for example, noise.

Travel organizations TUI and Corendon have already announced that they have moved some flights from Schiphol to Rotterdam this coming weekend. Travelers have already been informed about this.

Schiphol case
Last weekend, Schiphol asked airlines to cancel reservations to avoid uncontrollable crowds, which means dozens of flights are cancelled. This is not the case at the moment, the spokesperson asserts.

But the airport cannot completely rule out a repeat of this scenario next weekend.
