Pien Dicke and Joosje Burg made the half-time score 2-0, after which the Netherlands had to be patient until the final stages. René van Laerhoven scored a penalty in the 49th minute to make it 3-0. Dick, Marijn Wien and Luna Focke added to the scoring.

The Dutch had won their first seven games in the Pro League before last weekend’s 3-3 draw against Australia. The Netherlands then lost the shoot-out series 2–1 with a bonus point.

The Netherlands play the USA again on Tuesday. Twin clashes with Germany and New Zealand also await in June. Olympic champions Netherlands are scheduled to play two games against Belgium in early July.

National coach Paul van Os’ team is third in the standings with 25 points from 9 games. No. 8 USA has 7 points from nine games. Argentina are top of the table with 29 points, but have five games to play.
