Development and Marketing Costs Not Reimbursed for Alan Wake Remastered Yet – Games – News

Remedy has not yet received any royalties income for Alan Wake Remastered. According to the Finnish developer, Epic Games Publishing has not recovered development and marketing costs. The game came out over seven months ago.

Alan Wake Remastered was released last October on the Epic Games Store and on PlayStation and Xbox. It was not revealed how many copies of the game were sold, but publisher Epic Games Publishing has not yet calculated the costs incurred, According to Remedy’s annual report

It is not known exactly what agreements were made between Remedy and Epic. The wording states that Epic paid for development and marketing costs and that the Finnish developer would then receive a share of any profits in the form of royalties. Remedy’s sales amounted to 12.7 million euros in the last financial year. That was 55.9 percent more than the previous year. The studio expects to release several major games between 2023 and 2025, which will expand its “revenue stream” in the coming years.
