Classic Angry Birds without microtransactions disappears from Google Play – Gaming – News

Rovio Classics: Angry Birds, the remaster of the classic Angry Birds game from 2009, will disappear from the Google Play Store. The title does not have microtransactions, unlike Rovio’s Angry Birds 2, which is still available.

Rovio says on Twitter It has reviewed the business case of Rovio Classics: Angry Birds and has decided to remove the game from the Google Play Store due to the game’s “impact on our broader portfolio of games”. This will happen on Thursday. The title will not disappear from the App Store; There, the game got a different name that probably makes the title harder to find, Red’s First Flight. This decision on the iOS version is still under review.

Rovio Classics: Angry Birds will remain playable for those who have already downloaded the game, but new purchases and downloads for the Android version will no longer be possible from February 23rd. The title can also be found as Rovio Classics: AB on the Play Store. This is the only available version of the classic game.

Community manager Give A somewhat vague answer to the question of why the company doesn’t just keep the game. He argues that Rovio Classics: Angry Birds has a negative impact on other games and that the company should focus on that. “If these other games don’t improve and grow, the entire outlook of the company will change. And it’s hard to create new games or work on new projects.”

There are players of Rovio Classics: Angry Birds who are suggesting that Rovio remove the game from the Google Play Store because this title is very popular, thus alienating customers from other Rovio games, such as Angry Birds 2. From Rovio this title will only remain free to play and includes purchases within the game. This is unlike Rovio Classics: Angry Birds; This game costs €1.19 and has no microtransactions. Perhaps Rovio expects to be able to earn more from Rovio’s Angry Birds 2 after Rovio Classic: Angry Birds Gold, or so the thought goes.
