Apple releases iOS 15.1 with SharePlay video and ProRes for iPhone 13 Pro series – Computer – News

Apple will release iOS and iPadOS version 15.1 on Monday. These operating systems add support for SharePlay, among other things. iPhone 13 Pro can record ProRes videos after the update. The company is also releasing macOS Monterey.

Since Monday evening, iPhone and iPad users can download new OS versions from their device’s settings menu. Updates add many new features. For example, SharePlay allows FaceTime users to watch movies and TV series or listen to music together.

The feature syncs such content, and all users are given the option to rewind or pause the content. When people are talking, the displayed audio or video volume is automatically reduced. Users can also share their screen via SharePlay, for example to view images or web pages together.

Furthermore, iOS 15.1 adds support for ProRes recording for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it has already been revealed. Previous beta version. Users with the 128GB model can record 1080p videos at higher bit rates, allowing more space for editing footage afterwards. Those with 256GB or more of storage space can record 4K videos with ProRes.

ProRes will not be available for the regular iPhone 13 nor for earlier iPhones. iPhone 13 Pro owners can also turn the macro mode of the Ultra HD camera on and off manually. Previously, this feature was enabled by default. iPhone users in the US can add their covid vaccination certificate in the Wallet app, but this doesn’t work yet in Benelux.

iOS 15.1 also fixes some other bugs, including a software bug that incorrectly reported that iOS devices storage is full when importing photos or videos. HomePod and HomePod Mini will also receive support for lossless audio via Apple Music. Update 15.1 also adds support for Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio to HomePods.

Apple also released macOS Monterey on Monday, as the technology giant Previously announced. With this update, the Safari browser gets a more streamlined design and support for grouped tabs, among other things. FaceTime on Mac also gets support for blurred backgrounds.
