A Hillsborough County, Florida, coroner’s report showed Jackson’s death in February was considered “natural” and that the cause was listed as “chronic alcohol abuse.”
Officials at the time said he was found dead in a hotel room on February 15 in Brandon, Florida, with no signs of shock. CNN reported that his family reported him missing less than a week ago.
Dr. Ann Mackie said: “Vincent Jackson was an intelligent, disciplined, and kind giant, whose life began to change in his mid-30s. He developed depression, with progressive memory loss, problem-solving difficulties, paranoia, and eventually severe social isolation,” said Dr. Ann Mackie, Chief, Department of Neuropathology, Virginia Boston Health Care System and director of the BU CTE Center and VA-BU-CLF Brain Bank.
CNN’s Tina Burnside, Homero de la Fuente and CNN’s Melissa Alonso contributed to this report.
