Microsoft plans to announce new Surface products on March 21, Windows Central sources say. Both devices should have improved NPUs and focus on AI tasks. Both laptops are available with Arm or Intel SoC.
Intel laptops are scheduled to be available in April, followed by Arm versions in June. Provides Windows Central. According to sources, the laptops will feature Intel Core Ultra or Qualcomm Snapdragon. The Surface Pro 10 will have a similar design to the Pro 9, but it will have a brighter OLED screen that supports HDR technology. In addition, the device will have an improved camera and a built-in NFC reader.
The Laptop 6 will have a variant design with thinner bezels and rounded corners. According to the sources, the laptop will contain two USB-C ports and a USB-A port on the left side, and a magnetic charging port on the right side.
Microsoft wants to focus heavily on new Windows 11 AI functionality with laptops, such as a game upgrade tool and a translation function that can also translate. According to sources, Surface devices will also have AI Explorer functionality, which makes everything on the PC searchable using natural language. For example, users can ask the function to search for a list of restaurants that a friend once recommended, for example, via email or chat conversation.
The function can also display context-dependent functions, such as an edit button on images. Users can then indicate in the text what they want to edit, such as removing the background. These AI functions will be part of the Windows 11 24H2 release, which won’t be released until the fall. Microsoft did not respond to Windows Central’s questions about the rumors.
