Simon Keizer will be performing again for the first time since Nick and Simon’s farewell concerts. The Volendam singer plays a role in the Christmas musical Santa Claus is coming to town On December 23 and 24 at the Amsterdam Ziggo Dome.
“In any case, it will be a refreshing performance,” says the 39-year-old singer. “I’m really looking forward to taking part in this wonderful Christmas spectacle. I truly believe that Christmas is a family celebration and it fits in perfectly with the show. Santa Claus is coming to town“.
“I can’t reveal exactly what I’ll be doing yet,” he continues. “But this is something I’ve never done before. It would be very surprising.” Keizer will sing at least some Christmas songs with the North Pole Orchestra during the performances.
In addition to Keizer, Jelka van Houten, Soy Kroon, Buddy Vedder and Emma Heesters can be seen in the family show. Frank Lammers plays Santa Claus, whose story is told in the show.
In August 2022, Keizer and forty-year-old Nick Schilder announced that they would stop working as a musical duo. After seventeen years of working together, the people of Volendam wanted more space for “individual creativity.” Schilder released his first single as a solo artist in May.
