According to CDA leader Henri Pontenbal, import restrictions should be imposed on Chinese electric cars if they are found to have been produced with unauthorized government assistance. He says this on WNL Sunday on NPO1.
According to Bontenball, Europe is too naive about countries like China or India, and the European market is “flooded by Chinese electric cars.” Now, 8% of Europe’s car imports come from China.

There’s a problem, Bontenball says. “They look nice, but they are all made with state support. China uses globalization when it suits it. The European Commission is now investigating unauthorized state aid. If that is the case, I think we should protect our market.”
Umtzigt
Potenpal said earlier this week that he finds it difficult to criticize New Social Contract leader Peter Umtsigt, because he was previously a member of the CDA. Pontenball will now return to that. “Discussion about the content should be possible.” He called on voters to “vote for the original text.”
According to Bontenball, Umtzigt often criticizes the government (rightly), but pays little attention to problems within politics.
