A week after discovering an app that limits performance for gaming, Samsung releases an update in South Korea that allows stuffy It can be turned off. according to Korean Twitterer The update is now in its territory, but it seems that no international version has been released yet.
The new update on Galaxy smartphones allows users to bypass the popular Game Optimization Service (GOS) through a special performance mode. When starting games, gamers can therefore choose whether their smartphone will limit performance for better battery life and possibly better performance.
In addition to the actual software update, Samsung recently released more information in its FAQ, such as IceUniverse reported† List of 10000 applications (Available here) only serves to select the application. According to the company, it has been incorrectly assumed that all of the apps in that list can be attenuated in performance with a GOS app. According to Samsung, GOS can use the menu to find out if the app is a game or not.
In the same FAQ, the brand asserts that the standard apps are not games and therefore are not affected by the service. Critics say this is a way to maintain an unrealistic view of the Galaxy smartphone’s performance. Several legal objections have been filed against the company. Geekbench has also removed all benchmarks from Galaxy devices in response to an alleged benchmark app bypass.
All Samsung Galaxy smartphones from the Galaxy S21 FE and earlier will have the Game Optimization service, thus throttling gaming performance to a greater or lesser extent.
