Chiefs’ Ryan Poles Had Second GM Interview With The Giants

The Poles met President John Mara, Chairman Steve Teich, and Senior Vice President Players Staff Chris Mara at the team’s Quest Diagnostics training center. He also sat with other members of the team’s front office and toured the facility.
The Poles, 36, are completing his first season as CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs and his thirteenth year with the team. The Poles oversee all aspects of scouting for college football players across the country, assisting in the professional process and preparing for free agency, as well as assisting General Manager Brett Fitch in coordinating the NFL draft and supervising the out-of-town area scouts.
The Poles joined the Chiefs in 2009 as a staff member’s assistant before spending three seasons as a college scouting officer. In 2013, the Poles began a four-year term as Director of Scouting at Chiefs College. He was the club’s scouting manager in 2017. The Poles were promoted to Assistant Players Manager in 2018 and to his current position in 2021.
Prior to joining the Chiefs, Paul worked as a recruiting assistant at his alma mater, Boston College, from 2008-09 after signing with the Chicago Bears as a freelance untrained worker in 2008.
Canandigua, New York, hometown, played a offensive tackle for five seasons with the Eagles (2003-2007), protecting Matt Ryan from the current Atlanta Falcons. The Poles were honored with the Paul Cavanaugh Award in 2007 as a student-athlete with a full commitment to football on and off the field and for his dedication to volunteerism, ethics and community.
The Poles played junior football at the Canandigua Academy.
He and his wife Katie have two children, Mason and Jordyn.
