The 2022 NBA Postseason is upon us, and for the second year in a row, we’ll be dealing with championship play in every conference with the No. 7 and 8 seeded. Here are the eight teams that will have to make their way onto the field.

  • Western Conference: Minnesota Timberwolves (7), Los Angeles Clippers (8), New Orleans Pelicans (9), San Antonio Spurs (10)
  • Eastern Conference: Brooklyn Nets (7), Cleveland Cavaliers (8), Atlanta Hawks (9), Charlotte Hornets (10)

The format goes as follows: No. 7 plays No. 8 and No. 9 plays No. 10. The winner of match 7-8 gets seeded No. 7, and the loser plays the winner of match 9-10. Seed number 8.

In other words, seeded #7 and #8 have two shots to win a single game, while seed #9 and #10 have no margin for error, and have to win twice in a row to enter. One loss, they are out.

Below is the schedule for each game played.

Tuesday 12 April

Wednesday 13th April

Friday 15th April

  • East: Winner from Charlotte/Atlanta vs. Loser from Cleveland/Brooklyn, TBD (ESPN)
  • West: Winner in San Antonio/New Orleans vs. Loser in Los Angeles/Minnesota, TBD (TNT)
