2022 March Madness Predictions: College basketball expert picks odds, streaks for Sunday’s Elite Eight games

2022 March Madness Predictions: College basketball expert picks odds, streaks for Sunday's Elite Eight games

The 2022 NCAA Championship takes one of its last few innings on Sunday as the Elite Eight wrap up a double-header on CBS. By Sunday evening, we will only have four teams standing with regional champions in the Midwest and East and they are set to join the regional champions from the South and West for a merger for this year’s fourth final.

Sunday’s roster is full of underdogs battling the berth for the final weekend of March Madness with two double-digit seeded players — one in each game — and another unexpected competitor in North Carolina ranked No. 8 in the mix. The real Cinderella player plays in game two of the night as Saint Peter, the No. 15 seeded first to reach the Elite Eight, is seeded No. 8 in North Carolina. It is the lowest rated game in Elite Eight history. As usual, the Peacocks are big underdogs, but after winning this tournament twice as a double-digit dog – the first team in tournament history to do so – smart money on them to give UNC all they can handle.

Our experts below have dissected the board, controlled the numbers and selected each of the games below live and against the spread. Be sure to stick with CBS Sports for the remainder of the month for coverage of the NCAA Championship through to the end of the fourth round.

NCAA Championship: Elite Eight Picks for Sunday

(1) Kansas vs. (10) Miami (Florida)

Sunday, 2:20 pm | CBS, March Madness Live: Kansas had a 13-point lead in the second half against Providence in the Sweet 16 before withdrawing late that proved far from perfect in attack. However, it may be all you need to send Miami packages. The Jayhawks are brilliant on defense, and their physical style and ability to play big or small gives me enough confidence to put the number up. Choose: KS-6

(8) North Carolina vs. (15) Saint Peter

Sunday, 5:05 pm | CBS, March Madness Live: Saint Peter’s is perhaps the best Cinderella story in NCAA tournament history. You made history by running it. But… it has to end at some point, right? I think it might end here. UNC has a lot of talent and firepower. Tar Heels will give peacocks suits their desire to drive speed and size. If Caleb Love comes close to doing what he did against UCLA, The Heels will walk into the Final Four with relative ease. Choose: North Carolina -8.5
