Former US President Donald Trump is no longer banned from YouTube. This would allow Trump to post messages and videos to all major social media channels again. Its ban on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat earlier has also been lifted.
In January 2021, Trump was banned from YouTube, among other things, after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol. There were deaths and injuries, and there was great damage. Shortly before his supporters stormed the House of Representatives, Trump gave an inflammatory speech in Washington.
After the storm, Trump was initially banned from YouTube for a week, but that ban lasted more than two years.
Up-to-date presidential elections
Youtube says that By lifting the blockade on Trump, she wants to give voters a chance to stay up to date with videos of the presidential candidates. Trump is running for president in the 2024 US presidential election.
Trump’s channel on the video platform has 2.64 million subscribers. He mainly posts short videos of his speeches on his profile. Trump has not yet released any new videos after the blockade was lifted.
YouTube confirms that account policies, as for all other accounts, will continue to apply.
