Two men have been arrested in the UK on suspicion of pouring a corrosive liquid on a man. The man died as a result of the accident.
A 26-year-old man was seriously injured last week and later died in hospital. It happened after he had an ammonia attack when he opened the door of his house near Newcastle. Two men knocked on the door and poured liquid on the victim. Then they took off.
Local police say they have arrested two 32-year-old men on suspicion of involvement in the attack, which took place on Saturday. The police also arrested a 34-year-old man and two women, aged between 37 and 30, on suspicion of involvement in the incidents. English police intercepted a total of six people in this case. A 26-year-old man has since been released.
Earlier this month, two attacks using the corrosive substance also took place in Brussels. There were injuries, but there were no deaths.
