“It was very scary in a lot of ways,” Clayton says of the first show without Mullen Jr. But U2 has been preparing well lately with Van den Berg. “He adapts to whatever I or the band need and is a very nice guy,” says the guitarist. “He was probably the least nervous.”
The Edge guitarist adds that Van den Berg is a big fan of Mullen Jr. “He hasn’t reinvented the wheel. He stays true to the songs and arrangements,” he says.
