The former Twitter employee last month warned the US Congress and several government agencies about the potential consequences of breaches in the platform’s security. Zatko was Twitter’s chief security officer from late 2020 to early this year.
According to him, employees have widespread access to systems and information without being monitored. It also states that vulnerabilities are covered up.
Zatko was fired at the beginning of this year for not doing his job well enough. But according to the former employee, this is not true. Zatko claims that he was evicted because he wanted to expose the platform’s security concerns.
Twitter has told US media that he does not recognize himself in Zatko’s photo. His spokesman said his comments were riddled with “inconsistencies and inaccuracies”.
