The Ford GT, inspired by the iconic GT40 of the 1960s, is a coveted car for many enthusiasts. Unfortunately, they are very expensive. This is also the case with this used car from 2006. However, it is not the most expensive Ford on offer in the used car market.
The Ford GT40 achieved great fame after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans race four times in a row in the late 1960s. As a tribute, Ford created the Ford GT at the beginning of this century. In the back of the lowered supercar, the car manufacturer has placed a 5.4-liter V8 that produces no less than 550 horsepower.
Special version
The first generation Ford GT is considered an exclusive sports car especially in Europe. Just over 4,000 of this model were built, of which only 101 units were destined for European soil. However, the second most expensive used car from Ford is even rarer.
It’s the Ford GTX1, a convertible version of the GT. It was supposed to serve as a stirrer at the 2005 SEMA auto show. There, the seemingly roofless GT generated enough enthusiasm to go into production—on a small scale. Genaddi Design Group took over the project.
Very Rare Used Ford GT for sale
The plan was to build 500 copies of the GTX1, but it never quite got there. After the 38th Ford GTX1 rolled off the line, production was discontinued. One of those 38 copies is now for sale. The odometer for a manual Ford is 6,760 miles, which equals 10,879 kilometers.
bee Advertising It states that the car will have 710 horsepower, suggesting that on the rare occasion it was properly tuned in with Ford’s performance upgrade. Whether or not this is true is unknown. What is certain is that the provider wants 569,000 euros for it.
The most expensive used Ford in the Netherlands
Despite such a high price, it is not the most expensive used Ford car in our country. That honor goes to his successor. There is also a second generation Ford GT in Woerden for sale.
This occasion is from 2018 and is only 1,412 kilometers away. This model shows how Ford has been able to offer a modern interpretation of the classic GT40 twice in a row, without compromising the beautiful design.
In the back of the GT40 Tribute, you’ll now find two fewer cylinders. The second generation Ford GT is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 657 horsepower. This allows the GT to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of around 350 kilometers per hour. For all this beauty, the provider asks about 900,000 euros. This means that this used Ford GT is not even one of the most expensive used cars in the Netherlands.
