The Razer Wolverine V3 Xbox Controller Features a Hall Effect Joystick and New Design – Gaming – News

Razer has announced the Wolverine V3, an official Xbox controller with six extra buttons and a Hall effect joystick. The extra buttons are identical to the V2, though they’re now positioned differently. The V3 comes in both wired and wireless versions, and works on both Xbox and PC.

Hall effect joystick from The Razer Wolverine V3 should be more accurate. than traditional joysticks and last longer. The sensitivity and dead zone of the joystick can be adjusted in the Razer Controller app, available for both Windows and Xbox.

The six additional buttons are four rear paddles and two bumpers. On the previous model, those rear paddles were more in the middle of the controller, and now they’re more towards the grips. According to Razer, the bumpers are useful for gamers who play in clawgrip mode, where the thumb stays on the joystick, the index finger stays near the abxy buttons, and the middle finger stays near the bumper button.

Below the bumper buttons are the triggers, which, like the previous model, have two modes. Users can choose the standard analog triggers, or they can select “mouse click control” using the slider. The triggers become buttons and can be pressed faster, for example for shooters.

Razer is releasing the Wolverine V3 as a wireless Pro version and a wired Tournament Edition. The Tournament Edition costs €120 and can be ordered now. This will be delivered from September 26. The Pro version is on sale now and costs €230. It comes with a 2.4GHz USB Type-A dongle, a three-meter USB-A to C cable, a carrying case and two replaceable joystick covers. Both controllers have a PC Tournament mode, which requires the controller to be connected to a PC. Then there’s the 1000Hz polling rate. Razer doesn’t report the polling rate outside of PC Tournament mode.
